One of the most enduring power pop legends is Eric Carmen (The Raspberries). Just in time for the start of 2014, “Brand New Year” is Eric Carmen’s first new recording in over 15 years, finding the Artist in a reflective and optimistic mood for the future, both lyrically and sonically. This new song is the first premiere from the upcoming Legacy Recordings 30 track career retrospective, “The Essential Eric Carmen” – set for release March 11, 2014.

Radio Jellyfish coming soon!
Brand spankin’ new Jellyfish “unplugged” is coming out on Omnivore in December. Radio Jellyfish offers the bare essence of why Jellyfish is one of the most beloved power pop bands in music history: the voices and the songs. Unlike a live concert with dodgy sound or the glossy production brilliance in the studio – this is just the artists performing their hits in minimal arrangements with acoustic instruments. So who’s “joining a fan club”?
Album Preview: Jeremy Messersmith and Jeff Litman

The Solicitors “Quicksand”
Back in May my friend Scott at Pop Boomerang Records introduced me to this great new Australian band, The Solicitors. Now they have a new single that is so cool I had to feature it in a post. A new album is in the works for some time in 2014, so if you missed out on the debut EP, you get the new single “Quicksand” included.
