The Webstirs interviewed by Powerpopaholic

It’s a two-fer! I also interviewed the duo of Preston Pisellini and Mark Winkler of The Webstirs. They are expected at 4/24 to play for International Pop Overthrow in Chicago. The release of “So Long” has made the top ten this year as well. These guy were candid and funny. To read the interview directly, click here.

Powerpopaholic interview with Fastball

Not only did I get to review the album, but I contacted Miles Zungia of Fastball for a brief interview. Check out the interview button on the right or click here to read the Fastball interview.

True Lyrics Revealed Dept. Yes! It is finally revealed in this footage of Joe Cocker at Woodstock — what did he actually sing onstage that day, during “A Little Help With My Friends”? Scientists have used the latest technology to reveal it captioned for the clear-headed.

MItch Friedman and L’Avventura Interviewed

After a long and tedious process I have migrated the interviews section to a new server. If you have any links to these interview pages, update them, as I have 2 new interviews. It’s always nice to speak with new bands.  I spoke with Jeff Davis from L’Avventura, one of the early bright spots of power pop this year. Read the review of the debut album “Your Star Was Shinning” here. You can read the interview with Jeff Davis of L’Avventura over here.

I got a lot of good information from a conversation with Mitch Friedman who’s album “Game Show Teeth” is proving to be a one of my quirky favorites to listen to. Mitch had a long list of music celebrity friends and great experiences, including a period in his life when he worked for Howard Stern! Read the interview here or click on the “Artists Interviews” button on the right column to see all the artist interviews. I plan to add the audio interviews to this section very soon.

More of Roger Manning and Brandon Schott

After our interview, Roger Manning has continued to tour the interview circuit promoting “Catnip Dynamite” and if you wanted to hear even more from him, Phil Andrews got some more in depth from Roger in his interview from Palo Alto Pop Overthrow. There us also an interview with Ricky Free from Blue Sky Secret, a great new pop talent.

Brandon Schott is an LA-based singer-songwriter who has beaten long odds and my friend at Too Poppy blog is very excited about a new series of FREE demo downloads that Brandon is making available on to the public. The first offering is a cover version of Bjork’s “All is full of love.” He’s also got a video too.

Read about it on the Too Poppy blog. You will want to visit the site on the 10th of every month to get a new song. Or you can just download “All is full of love” now.
