  1. The psychedelic, power-pop group, The Sun Sawed in 1/2 is back in the studio. After the 2000 release, "Bewilderbeest," the Sun has reformed to produce a brand new album. The album will feature Sun members: Tim Rose (guitars), Ken Rose (bass), Doug Bobenhouse (guitar, vocals) and Matt Martin (drums) plus many great guests including other former Sun members. Each month, beginning January 2010, the band will release a single online until all 12 songs are out. One may follow the progress online on the band's Facebook fan page. Also, the Sun has finally released its material on iTunes and other online sources. Available are the long out-of-print, "The Happiness" and "Hot Feet for Monkey God" and "Mind Flip" along with the other catalog and many never-before-heard bonus tracks. And, songwriter Tim Rose's 2005 solo album "Fresh Mowed Lawn is available on iTunes with many bonus demos and unreleased tracks.
The Sun was popular internationally during the 90s and had released several highly-regarded albums with veteran rock producer Keith Olsen (Fleetwood Mac, Santana, Grateful Dead). Their single, "Green M&Ms" from the 1995 release, "Mind Flip" took the power pop world by storm as well as their subsequent Not Lame releases, "Fizzy Lift" and "Bewilderbeest."
The Sun Sawed in 1/2 will begin recording in October at Coupe Studios in Boulder.
